ok...I've fallen way behind on this blog. I've had some pc problems at home as I was hit with some nasty malware that caused all sorts of problems.
A big thanks goes to the guys at
http://www.security-forums.com who have helped me get up and running again.
They spent the better part of 2 days analyzing my problems and walking me through the process to clean them up. I'm not done yet, but it looks like we're close.
Anyway, it goes to show the importance of keeping your pc free of crap. Malware, spyware, viruses, trojans, etc are all dangers to your desktop. They not only drag down your resources, but they can secretly spy on you and put you in danger of identity theft.
It also hurts your productivity. I have been unable to get much done since I was infected. And if the PC goes down altogether, you could be springing for a new one. Plus you'll lose a lot of personal files, pictures, and documents that may never be replaced. Back up your important stuff often!
